Our Story
Yoga, without the price of admission
Black Swan Yoga started with one idea: the practice shouldn't be reserved for people who can afford a studio membership. Every class we teach still runs on that idea today.
How We Got Here
Built by people who couldn't afford a studio
Black Swan Yoga was founded on the belief that a heated, challenging yoga practice and an accessible price shouldn't be mutually exclusive. Rather than charge a fixed rate per class, we built a donation-based model — students give what they're able, and no one is turned away from the mat over cost.
That founding idea has carried the studio across multiple U.S. cities, but the experience stays the same wherever you find us: a heated room, a welcoming teacher, and a community that shows up for each other as much as for the practice itself.
Here in Austin, that means a studio at 1417 W Anderson Ln that's equally full of first-timers, longtime members, and teachers-in-training — all practicing side by side.
What We Stand For
The four things we won't compromise on
Inclusivity
Every body, every background, every experience level is welcome on the mat — no exceptions.
Affordability
Donation-based pricing means cost is never the reason someone misses class.
Authentic Community
We build real relationships in the room, not just a schedule of classes to check off.
Personal Growth
On the mat or in teacher training, we practice for the version of ourselves we're building toward.
How Donation-Based Works
No price tag. No punch card. Just practice.
It's a simple model, and it's the same for every single class we offer.
Reserve your spot
Book online or walk in — there's no membership requirement to try your first class.
Practice in the heat
Join a 90° heated, all-levels class taught by an instructor who'll meet you where you are.
Give what feels right
At the end of class, contribute what you're able that day — it can change every time you visit.
Our People
A community that practices together
Our teachers come from a range of backgrounds and training paths, united by a shared belief in accessible, honest instruction. Many started as students in this exact room before training to lead it.
Outside of class, our community shows up for workshops, retreats, and studio events — the kind of gatherings that turn a yoga studio into a genuine second home.
